I am interested in glacier and ice-sheet dynamics, and in particular, the role that water plays in glacierized systems. I am involved with the UBC Glaciology Group and with the Science Insitute of the University of Iceland in trying to understand basal hydrology and dynamics, outburst floods from ice-dammed lakes, and glacier surges. We use geophysical field methods, along with theoretical and numerical models, to study glaciohydraulic phenomena of alpine glaciers in the Yukon, Icelandic ice caps, and the paleo ice-sheets of North America.
