Excellence in Earth Science
EOS brings together a dynamic, diverse group of scientists and
engineers dedicated to understanding how the earth works.
EOS Explore Your Planet 2008
Thank you to everyone who attended the 2nd annual
Explore
Your Planet openhouse last weekend. And, a special thanks to all of the
EOS volunteers who donated their time to run the demonstrations, give talks, and lead
tours in the museum.
Welcome Prospective Students
The Department administers majors, honours and applied science programs that
attract over 300 undergraduate and 160 graduate students.
Our programs offer challenges to students at all levels.
To learn more see
prospective students and the department
undergraduate brochure.
Community Outreach
Pacific Museum of the Earth, located in the EOS main lobby,
features a wide array of displays including exhibits on fossils, earthquakes,
climate and a special Vault exhibit where you can gaze upon rare
and precious minerals.
Coming Events
The future Earth Systems Science Building
will provide an exceptional education and research facility.
The aim is to raise $32.5 million from the private sector and, so far,
pledges totaling over $20 million have been received from the mining
industry.
See recent media
announcements and for more on the building see this
