EMERGENCY PROCEDURES and DISASTER PREPAREDNESS
THE FOLLOWING GENERAL SAFETY PROCEDURES MUST BE FOLLOWED BY
FACULTY, OTHER INSTRUCTORS AND TEACHING ASSISTANTS, STAFF, AND
STUDENTS IN ALL AREAS OF THE EARTH & OCEAN SCIENCES BUILDINGS:
FIRE
 |
IF YOU DISCOVER A FIRE, PULL THE NEAREST FIRE
ALARM AND THEN VACATE THE BUILDING, AND GO TO THE NEAREST
ASSEMBLY AREA (maps attached). |
IF THE FIRE ALARM IS ALREADY SOUNDING, VACATE THE BUILDING,
AND GO TO THE NEAREST ASSEMBLY AREA (go HERE
for maps)

IF YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF A GROUP, MAKE SURE THAT
EVERYONE LEAVES THE BUILDING WITH YOU
|
Once everyone is assembled, report to the following Directors and Fire Wardens:
EOS MAIN AND SOUTH:
Doug Polson, Fire Director or
Paul de Leon, Admin Manager, EOS or
Cecilia Li, Deputy Fire Safety Director, EOS South
EOS EAST:
Francis Jones, Fire Warden
EOS BIOSCIENCES:
Carol Leven, Fire Warden
GAS LEAKS, RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL, etc...

DO NOT TRY TO HANDLE
THESE SITUATIONS YOURSELF!!!

IMMEDIATELY CALL 911 and
Close off area and make sure that no one else will enter

MEDICAL EMERGENCIES
| IN CASE OF A SERIOUS MEDICAL EMERGENCY, DIAL 911 |

Give the location and information to the dispatcher or CALL:
EOS MAIN, SOUTH, EAST AND BIOSCIENCES

Emergency and First Aid Kits are located in:
- EOS MAIN 106 and 136
- EOS EAST 129, 160, 360, the Coffee Room and
the Labs
- EOS BIOSCIENCES 1461 and the Labs
EARTHQUAKE
- DROP - stay clear of windows and outside stairwells
- COVER - take cover under a sturdy table or desk or
crouch at the base of an inside wall and ride it out!
- HOLD - wait until the shaking stops; do NOT leave the
building unless there is major damage or hazard
